Re: Jaguar E Type coupe

On a 4.2 the instrument panel should be black leatherette, 3.8s had textured aluminium. Originally, 3.8s had alloy centre console changing to black leatherette later and staying for the 4.2s.

Re: What did you do to your ftype today

Took F down to the coast , needed to wear in the new Dunlop sp maxx fronts fitted last week and correct size so have a lot more rubber in contact at the front . Lots of lovely noises out the back , such fun ! Glad I haven't got the Ferrari anymore , spent most of the time with maintenance issues......

Re: What did you do to your ftype today

It's been sat in my garage for a week or two on smart charge, so I thought a quick outing to the coffee shop wouldn't do it any harm. Pumped the tyres up and off I went. All OK until I parked it - wouldn't lock or alarm - ahhhhh. While I ate my cake and drank my coffee, I locked it via the app. but ...

Re: Went out for Fish & (Chips)

I wouldn't go for a smart repair for that, you may end up with a large area of paint that may be softer than the rest. I would just carefully fill the chip with touch up paint, I bet nobody (except you) will every see it.

Re: New member looking for an ftype

I've just been talking to a friend of mine who may be willing to sell his F-Type that could be of interest. It's a 2017 340 Coupe in Ammonite Grey and black interior. 25K miles, just had Jaguar Service and health check and has the following spec: pan roof, active and switchable exhaust, full black p...

Re: Snow foam didn’t quite work out

I have a Karcher foam attachment, which is a fairly cheap bit of kit. Using Karcher's own snow foam, I got plenty of foam but not brilliant cleaning power. I've since moved to using Bilt Hamber snow foam, very little foam but impressive cleaning power.

Re: 3 LTR version

My own opinion is that I find my 340hp V6 perfectly suited to the car. It's perfectly quick enough for any road situation and to me sounds better than the gruff V8. I'm not going to be popular saying this but, all that popping and banging (which the V6 will do if provoked) sounds a bit like an exhau...

Re: Seized exhaust valves

Just had my first out of warranty service and used my local regular independent garage. While the car was on the ramp I asked them to smear some high temp. grease on the exhaust valve actuator shaft and arm. Can't do any harm, but a dealer would refuse.

Re: gearbox fault

I had the same problem when my battery went flat some months ago. Managed to start the engine with a jump battery but the gearbox would not engage. After charging the battery for a while, it started to work properly, and has done ever since.

Re: once you go black!!!!!........ opinions needed

To me black looks a bit aftermarket, I would go original silver or a darker tungsten silver (or even satin grey as suggested by basher).
