Re: Non OE spec tyres

So long as the tyres meet the required specfications for speed, weight, load, etc. you'll be fine. They may not give optimum performance but they'll meet your insurance requirements. I agree with SCM that provided the spec meets the requirements then it's not an insurance issue. Michelin warranty s...

Re: Windscreen cleaning

I'm not sure I'd use that as a regular screen cleaner. It appears to be a polishing compound for use prior to the application of coatings. Perhaps for a one off. Couple of web product comments from different sites: Soft99 Glaco Glass Compound is a glass polish with built in applicator which uses two...

Re: 49 Years Between Them

Lucky brother. He’s got his pension sorted as the owner of a Etype better than money in the bank. Enjoy. Looks to be a beautiful car to own, drive and show I believe the peak has long passed for investment (although who knows if and when it will return) They have been dropping over the last 8 years...

Re: Non OE spec tyres

For normal use on roads it's all rather marginal and doubt you'd ever know. Ultimately the Volvo spec tyre has been changed from standard spec to better show the characteristics sought by that manufacturer. It may be for better wet use vs ultimate handling or to perform better with their suspension,...

Re: Perfect Parking Space

No trolleys around there and it’s a crossing to nowhere. If someone is going to key the car they’ll do it wherever more likely on street parking
My real fear is mothers in SUV’s fighting to get kids in the rear child seat, or OAP’s who seem to manage to batter the next car getting in or out..

Perfect Parking Space

I’m the same as many on here and like to avoid the morons who park next to me regardless of how far from danger I park. Banging doors, using my car for alignment, etc. This has to be the perfect spot (with awareness of the bollards and where your front bumper is) So many supermarkets would simply bl...

Re: Exhaust Manifold to Catalytic Converter Nuts

Always difficult due to the endless heat cycling they have been through. Worst thing you can do is fit a socket or ring spanner and just wrench them. You 'll be having rounded faces or the manifold off to extract snapped studs I'd soak them overnight with fluid, few good taps to crack them then get ...

Re: Front wheel tracking.

Why can’t it be aligned without new tyres? My local Hunter equipped garage do it whenever I ask (for free unless an issue then charge per adjustment) and actually prefer the old tyres on so they can see before what if anything is wrong. Always do a full set up after new are fitted As an aside some i...

Re: Start/stop button

It worked intermittently then failed altogether after about 5 minutes! Easy to refit original but ebay seller now refusing to refund so members please AVOID Ah well - I guess you get what you pay for in terms of the quality with Chinese replica parts. Raise a complaint with eBay and am sure you'll ...
