Re: Tyre Bulge

Thanks for your comments, it confirmed what I was thinking really , not worth the risk for the price of a tyre.

Tyre Bulge

I have an AWD S running Michelin Pilot Sport 4s 225x35 20 on the front with about 6mm of tread 295x30 20 on the rear with about 5mm of tread When I was cleaning it last week I noticed a bulge on the front nearside tyre about 35mm diameter and about 3mm high, presumably from hitting one of our many l...

Car Ramps

I was looking for some ramps to use with the F Type so I can clean and protect the subframe. I saw some being used by "Lunar" in the thread about rear diff oil change and after PMing him these seem ideal as they are wide enough (300mm) to take the F Type Rear Tyres. They are made by Durhan...

Re: Michelin Pilot sport 4S

Hi I have an AWD S running Front 255 x 35 ZR20 97Y Rear 295 x 30 ZR20 101Y I changed all 4 tyres from Pirelli P zeros to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S about a month ago. To be honest I have not really noticed any difference, I didn't have a problem with grip on either tyre. I was hoping the Michelin tyre ...

Independent Garage Brentwood

I was wondering if anybody has used Mercury Car Centre in Brentwood as I'm looking for an independent garage to do some work on my F type. I did look on https://the-jaguar-specialist-register.com/independent-jaguar-specialists/ but the ones close to me seem to be more into restoration and classics. ...

Re: Jaguar F-Type differential failures - Input needed.

I have AWD and the online service information says: Renew transfer box oil - 48000 miles or 3 years. Renew rear locking differential oil - 64000 miles or 4 years. I can see it now, my dealer never mentioned replacing the diff oil when I booked it in for the service and it's not on the bill so wasn'...

Re: Jaguar F-Type differential failures - Input needed.

I’m looking for some advice regarding the F Type Diff I have a 2016 AWD S As I understand it I have a Rear Diff + a Transfer Box to send the power to the Front Diff. Is the Rear Diff on the AWD the same as the RWD car? and are the AWD cars having the same problem? I have had the car 18 months and ha...

Re: Car started itself

I phoned my local dealer but their system was down so would not be able to do it. I phoned another dealer and they said they could do it if I took the car in. I wanted to get this sorted as soon as possible so took it to them, they confirmed it was still in the previous owners name and registered to...

Car started itself

I have just had the strangest thing happen. I was sitting in the lounge when I heard the F Type startup, I quickly looked out the window there was nobody about and the car was still locked but I could see steam coming from the exhaust so it was definitely running, I grabbed the keys and went outside...
