Re: What else did you shortlist?
It was really either the jag or a nicely specced up Mercedes Benz SLK for me, but I decided to stretch my budget and get the jaguar as it’s been my dream car since it came out. I briefly had the Merc SL on my shortlist until I Googled "SL handling in the snow" and that put me off as I nee...

Re: Who knows what 3/5 years warranty options cost before
I asked about extending the warranty to 5 years and was told in no uncertain terms that the only way to do this is to get a quote towards the end of the 3 year warranty period. I asked for a rough idea how much it'd be and got a round of shrugs. I still need to set a reminder for this as I'll no do...

Re: XJ engine line up
If you look at Autotrader there are 223 XJ Jags for sale manufactured since 2014 of which 193 are diesel and only 30 are petrol which is about 13%0800Dinosaur wrote: ↑Sat May 12, 2018 10:31 pm
There was a Jag press release where they said that v6 petrols in the XJ/XF/XE (I think) account for only 0.5% of sales.

Re: F Type AWD S 2015 vs 400 2017
I once bought a BMW with leather seats that weren't heated and hated it in the winter so would never buy another one. I note from your thread on another forum that you live in Bucharest. If that is colder than UK in Winter I would think hard about buying a car without heated seats unless you keep it...

Re: F Type AWD S 2015 vs 400 2017
I'm planning on keeping the car at least 18 months, I'd like to think the 400 will retain it's value a bit better. The F Type (like most other cars) will take a big depreciation hit in the first two years whereas a 2015 model won't depreciate anywhere near as much as someone else has already suffer...

Damn. I would have gone along for a look if I'd known that there were modern classics there as my next door neighbour is heavily involved with Middleton Hallcj10jeeper wrote: ↑Mon May 07, 2018 9:37 pm Mine out too Middleton Hall amongst 100 classics, parked next to a very nice Challenger

Re: Considering an F-type purchase but noticed the lack of Active Exhaust. Dealbreaker?
I prefer the quiet setting, it's still stupid loud when you floor it. I wanted the switch before I bought the car, now realise I didn't really need it. Am I alone in this? The F Type is on my shortlist of two cars and the possible deal breaker for me is actually the reverse of the question asked by...
