Re: Whats this whurring noise?

It sounded similar to your original recording. When it first started, it sounded like tyre noise as if I was driving over a slightly rippled surface. I initial thought I was following the sticky marks left after temporary cat's eyes had been removed - does that make sense? Then it quickly became mor...

Re: Jaguar F-Type differential failures - Input needed.

Thought I'd post into this thread in case similar is missed in another one, but happy to contribute my experience to the mix for Tel to work his magic! Had minor oil seeping from the rear diff on my 2016 SVR (44,000 miles). This was fixed under warranty in the summer and all OK until recently when '...

Re: Whats this whurring noise?

Just heard from Harwoods with the following: "Carried out investigation into Nosie from vehicle. Tested and confirmed the noise to be coming from the rear differential. Inspected rear diff and found no oil leaks from the pinion seal. Removed the Diff drain plug. confirmed oil within the diff. C...

Re: Whats this whurring noise?

Just seen this thread. I have 2016 SVR with 44,000 on clock. I have had a very similar sounding noise for the last few weeks. Had a small leak from Diff that was fixed under warranty last summer. I have just dropped her into Harwoods, Basingstoke - expecting Diff or Bearings and praying covered by w...

Re: Car insurance

@JFA When I took out Liverpool Victoria multi-car insurance I asked if my insurance premium would be reduced if I subscribed to Jaguar’s InControl Secure (which includes the Stolen Vehicle Tracking feature). They informed me that it makes no difference whatsoever. With regards to the InControl Remo...

In my opinion I would just change the fronts, no point in scraping tyres with life left in them, as long as you have the same brand across each axle you'll be fine

Agreed - I've been running Pirellis on the rear & Michelins on the front for the last year & no problems.

Re: Car insurance

I bought a 3rd-party one (SmarTrack with a lifetime subscription) Ah I see.......just had a look at the the SmarTrack subscription pricing info here http://www.smartrack.eu/subscriptions/ Do you or anyone else think the Jaguar InControl Remote 'Journeys' option could be classed as a tracker as it r...

Re: Car insurance

My SVR is with LV at £260 - but it's 4 years old now. When I first bought the car, the value of the car was an issue with some insurers, but the two things that counteracted this - both in terms of acceptance and price - were garaged overnight and a tracker. The cost of the tracker more than paid fo...

Re: Next car?

This quote from Evo would definitely put me off - I ALWAYS open the windows in a tunnel! "Cabin only affair" - really? "BMW’s TwinPower 1.5-litre three-cylinder delivers a soundtrack that does the i8’s looks justice. Obviously a large part of that comes from cleverly synthesised audio...

Re: Fen End F-type event

It is a really good event - I went last Thursday. With me having a 2016 SVR, I was expecting the sound to be noticeably quieter, but I was surprised at the difference being small. The main one for me was that the new R's were not as harsh a sound as mine, rather than being quieter - probably due to ...
