Re: New potential owner

Tough choice - mIne has the carbon blades and the low end 380W Meridian system, there's also a top end 770W Meridian with surround sound (says "Surround" on the speakers, mine just says "Meridian"). Personally, I hardly ever use the sound system, the noise from the "speakers" at the back are enterta...

FWIW - if you're really bothered, just disconnect the positive and isolate the battery from the cars' system.
But make sure you know how to get into the boot to reconnect it before you close the lid! ;)

Re: V6 tank range

People online are saying that a V8 is better than V6s people’s opinions? "Better" is entirely subjective so it depends on your personal wants and/or needs. Pick the one that suits you best, that'll be the better one for you. ;) In the Netherlands, the 4-pot is better if you want to avoid an extreme...

Re: Essential journeys !

I'd contact the insurance company and ask them. Get the answer in writing, just in case!

Re: Essential journeys !

I was lucky in that I got my service and MOT done in early March, but unlucky in that it's booked in for some warranty work (fuel system issues) on April 7th, which had been cancelled, as far as I'm aware. My warranty expires in July this year, so hope they'll honour the warranty if it gets delayed ...

Re: What’s the approved method of battery trickle charging.

There's a negative terminal near the jump start post, any reason you chose not to use that? I've seen one guy who's run a CTEK cable into the wheel arch so he just untucks it by the wheel to connect the charger, and tucks it away again after use.

Re: Ctek mxs05

On a previous XKR I was surprised at how long it took to show fully charged, in spite of the battery seeming to be fine - no issues starting, etc. If it never reaches 7 it could mean the battery is on its way out.

Re: Lazy dashboard heating vent.

Mine's on auto and I know when winter's coming become it stops rising and doesn't rise again until well into spring!
I've heard that it only vents cold air, which makes sense since hot air rises so it would only serve to heat the roof.

Can't remember exactly how long it took for light 7 to illuminate, but took a couple of weeks for light 8 to come on.
Light 7 is the green one that denotes the battery is fully charged. Light 8 comes on only if the battery voltage drops and the charging cycle restarts.
