Re: Paint defect on New F Type What Should I do?

I do not believe a bodyshop can ever mix the paints to match exactly the colour on the rest of the car, nor do I believe a body shop can match the same quality of the factory. A decent bodyshop can match factory colours, I had a smart repair man replace a front splitter on my previous Kyanite Blue ...

Re: I'm interested in purchasing a 2016 cpo f type s

I've only had my F-Type for a year so can't comment on its long term reliability, but I have had three Jags before that and have found them to be very reliable. I had a 6-year old 2001 XK8 for two years and the only issue that had was the coolant expansion tank cracking (known issue), a 2004 4.2 XKR...

Re: Lessons of an amateur car washer

It's the main reason I don't polish. The reason I don't polish is that I'm very lazy - much prefer driving it! :D What's the difference between polishing and detailing? AIUI, polishing is a stage of detailing, after the initial pass of removing swirls and generally improving the finish of the paint...

Re: Independent warranty for used private car

My first two (XK8 and 4.2 old shape XKR) were bought from independents, 5.0 XKR from a main dealer. The 5.0 XKR was delivered to me with a wiring fault that the dealer fixed under warranty (afetr they'd claimed it wasn't covered and I'd explained it would anyway be covered by the sale of goods act. ...

Re: Independent warranty for used private car

How recent are your family's horror stories? I'm now on my 4th jag, previously had XK8, 4.2 XKR and 5.0 XKR and haven't needed any warranty work done on any of them, just routine maintenance and failure of age-related parts (oil pipe at 90,000 miles, coolant expansion tank, neither of which was as e...

Re: InControl Secure vs Aftermarket?

I've been notified twice, once when it was at the dealer have a new module fited (unnecessarily as it turned out) and once when the battery went flat. That latter was very helpful, so I avoided a nasty shock the next morning when I needed to use the car.
