Re: Oil checking
Probably been covered before, but happy to brief new owners. The oil level reading immediately available on the dash is an average reading. About 100 samples are taken per kilometre and algorythms compensate for temperature etc. to give a live reading. The reading with the hood (bonnet) open is an a...

Re: Rising oil level on V8
I had this after my oil level went to overfill 6 months after a service when it was ok, and no oil was added. I checked for a coolant leak; all rocksteady, and a faulty injector, nope. It was then I realised that the AVERAGE had gone up, not the actual oil level. You probably don't have a fault - le...

Re: Changing Tires - Need some advice between Michelin vs Pirelli
This has been covered ad nauseum and I can confirm that, going from Pirelli to Michelin is like night and day. It's worth $200 just to get the confidence when you're driving. It could mean the difference between going into the hedge and staying on the road. Just do it. Never had a problem with TPMS ...

Re: Another oil overfill
I have found that I can't trust dealers to get this right. Bought my V6 380S Coupe from a Jaguar dealer in East Midlands. When I got home, I started exploring the vehicle info and had an 'Oil Overfill' message. Rather alarmed by the advice in the handbook 'Do not drive the vehicle' after a spirited ...

Re: Jaguar still Tweeking Software
InControl is probably H251- Complimentary software update. When mine was done, the software update crashed and the car was off the road for two days while the dealer fixed it. When I got home, voice guidance on navigation didn't work. Another two days at the dealer to fix corrupted software. When I ...

Re: Camera van on opposite carriageway
There are guidlines that have to be followed regarding distance from the carriageway being measured, but the lesson learnt here is that they can clock you on both carriageways. 85 is just too high for a Zoom speed awareness course. Bad luck.

Re: Most outrageously priced Accessory?
I removed my engine cover, or plastic vanity cover as I call it, when I first had the car. After the last visit to the dealer, they provided an unsolicited quotation for a new one - £200.

Re: Dealers!
Unfortunately, my Jaguar dealer experience for sales and service has been less than impressive. Bought my MY2018 V6 AWD F-Type from E. Midlands. After the test drive I gave the car a brief once-over - after all, they have done a multi-point check so I trusted them. In the first few days after arrivi...
