Re: No more pops and Bang

At least in Germany the Jaguar dealers are obligated to make those updates so if you have a lease car you pretty much have to do it.

If it's a used car without any warranty anymore you can avoid this by taking it to an unofficial dealer.

Will pulling that make a difference?

It will at least make a difference until about 3500rpm, then it's the same as before. Oh and after a cold start it will be a bit louder too.

... but still has obnoxious levels of pops and crackles .... One man's obnoxious is another's music to the ears .... ;) Haha I agree and I also meant obnoxious in a positive way. ;) And I agree with the mileage increase as well, since the video the car has gotten louder too as it's now nearing 1000...

Re: 2019 F Type R Exhaust volume

I know that the new facelift V8 really is devoid of most pops and crackles. I got my V6 June 2019, it's fitted with OPF and has Euro 6D-Temp emissions, so it's quieter than before, but still has obnoxious levels of pops and crackles, those are probably also a bit quieter though. I made a video befor...

Re: 2019 F Type R Exhaust volume

I have an Ultra Blue Coupe by the way, love the colour. ;-) I never drove the V6 without OPF, is the difference really that significant? With the fuse pulled and without the trunk cover the sound is still really loud, especially on S+. I do think that the sound is really subdued on low rpms though a...

Re: 2019 F Type R Exhaust volume

I don't know about VAP, but you should pull the fuse that controls the valves. Also drive in Dynamic anyway as the sound is still the strongest in this mode even with the fuse pulled. This will at least increase volume for low rpms and you will get more pops and crackles for low rpms too. At least t...

Re: MY2020 Recall. Failed Static Noise.

They just applied this update during the service because I have a lease car and it's necessary in Germany. I don't notice any difference though, they told me that volume on idle exceeded the regulations but it was always pretty quiet in Neutral, so I don't get it anyway. Afterwards I pulled the fuse...

Re: Too Tall To Drive

I'm 6'4 and the new thinner standard sport seats on the MY20 are really good, they are much better than before especially if you are tall.

Re: V8 R coupe - increase exhaust noise level in cabin

Remove the trunk cover, it dampens the sound a lot on my V6 Coupe.

Pretty much this, you won't get any pops or crackles before anyway.
