Re: What is the correct idling speed of a 2016 V8 R
I know I'm a bit late to the party but just wanted to add my thoughts in case anybody searches this in future - my '13 V8S idles at 596rpm, it's got a lovely lumpy sound to it and Jaguar themselves said that was perfectly normal.

Re: noise..... options for increasing it???
For reference, here's my F-Type without the switchable exhaust button. https://i.imgur.com/as0DGGT.png That's not to say that the cars don't have active exhaust valves, I think it was an option on the 4-pots and base spec V6, but the S and the V8s had the active exhausts as standard. The button just...

Re: Youtube F-Type crash compilation.
Hard to watch but just shows our cars need to be treated with respect for what they are. Far too many people get behind the wheel of something with 450+bhp and expect it to handle like a diesel BMW 3-series.

Re: Twitchy Back End
My F-Type is running (slightly worn) Bridgestones on the back and slides absolutely everywhere if you're not careful. Mine's a RWD V8 so is a bit of a handful to drive, especially in inclement weather. If I put the car into Dynamic mode the rear likes to let loose so I have to mess around with the s...

Re: Are newer F-Types quieter than their older brothers?
a decatted, JP back box, TVR T350. So loud that it hurts (137db at full antisocial levels) I had one of these a few years back. Absolutely hilarious and with the decat it made a proper buzzsaw note above 4500rpm. Backfire to rival our F-Types! My Jaguar has been behaving itself recently and has bee...

Are newer F-Types quieter than their older brothers?
My 2013 V8 F-Type has been back to Jaguar a number of times under warranty, but I noticed between having a 2014 V6S and a 2019 V6S courtesy car, that the newer one sounds remarkably quieter than the older V6. My V8 is unmodified except might have a fuse blown that controls the active exhaust so it's...

Re: Bluetooth/CarPlay randomly stops working
Same issue as my 2013 - craps out for no reason. I've just learned to live with it, sometimes if I switch to another connected phone (e.g. the missus) and switch back, it'll force the car to reconnect.

Re: Things You Did'nt know about your F-Type
Unintuitively? Every Jaguar I've had works the same way, which I find very intuitive. And having the washer jets in the wiper housing is far more sensible since it squirts the fluid on the glass just before the blades get there (you have noticed it only squirts on the upstroke?) - how many times ha...

Re: Polite request - are taxi fares covered?
Thanks for the reply guys. The taxi was about £30, so not exactly breaking the bank but enough to be a minor annoyance. Unfortunately I was given the round-the-houses by Jaguar Assist (the woman on the other end didn't believe they offered recovery for "old" Jaguars. Oi! Approved "hal...

Re: Things You Did'nt know about your F-Type
I love this kind of trivia. F-Types, like other Jaguars, have an emergency pull handle in the boot. They glow in the dark. Given how tiny the boot is on a convertible, it seems a little unnecessary. If you hold the lock/unlock button on your key fob, your Jaguar will drop/raise its windows. Converti...
