Re: Boot Leak Via Deployable Spoiler Mounting Bracket

You haven’t identified potential leak points 1 and 2 correctly. If you look at your 1st pic there’s a sticky tab which has detached at the underside top corner of the tailgate (near the roof) and there is one each side. The purpose of the tabs is to keep the plastic side channel and rubber seal in t...

Re: Carbon brake mounting pins

Is that price from a Jaguar main dealer or stealer? If so, I'm not sure why it's almost double of what it is here in the UK? Try doing a Google search on part number T2R9918 and see what's available? The ebay link I posted earlier shows the guiding pin at just under £20 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2...

Re: Boot Leak Via Deployable Spoiler Mounting Bracket

Hi and welcome. Water could be entering the tailgate from a few different areas including: 1. The rubber seal at the underside top corners of the tailgate (near the roof). 2. The rubber seal at each side of the tailgate. 3. The two drain plugs under the deployable spoiler as explained here...https:/...

Re: Carbon brake mounting pins

Yes, they are the silver plated ones! ;)

The total price for two OEM guiding pins (part number T2R9918) from my local Jaguar main dealer is just under £46 inc VAT.

If I buy them I’ll be getting the OEM ones from my Jaguar main dealer as there’s hardly any difference in price between them and ebay etc. Can’t you do the same in Germany?

Re: Carbon brake mounting pins

I would use two of them for the reason I mentioned earlier i.e. to prevent any damage that could be done to the elongated stud. Even if one was used, the wheel wouldn’t do a pendulum movement as I’d be holding it at the same time, as I do when I remove/refit a wheel without using guiding pins. I'd t...

Re: Carbon brake mounting pins

One of the most difficult items I've ever tried to source. I don't have carbon brakes, but having struggled to fit the 20 inch wheels over wheel studs while trying to avoid striking the caliper, I set out to locate a suitable set of mounting pins. The item you require is a M12x1.5 (female) wheel st...

Re: Carbon brake mounting pins

my Jag has the carbon brake system. Unfortunately, the mounting pins were missing from the car if you want to remove the wheel. Would anyone have a part number for me? I've already searched half the internet ;-) The part number is T2R9918 as shown here... https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/pa...

Re: (Another) Leaking tailgate (sorry)

As it can be difficult to trace where these water leaks are coming from, I’d start by sealing the clip above the drip area marked ‘X’ in your pic (below) and also the other clips along the underside of that tailgate channel (check if there's one under the C-Pillar trim). Before doing so, press down ...
