I, like yourself, bought a V6S about 3 years ago and have recently upgraded to a V8 (450)
I traded mine in at jaguar dealership and got a good deal.
Once you test drive the right V8 your inner child will take over and your chequebook will be out before you know it

Re: About to take the jump to ownership.....good choice?
Take the plunge you won't regret it. I bought a 2016 V6s and loved it but have since upgraded to 2021 V8...it is awesome. All cars are different and the F Type is a totally different animal to your Lotus. I ran a Porsche 911S for 3 years but although it would beat the F type on the ragged edge I muc...

I would go for the newer model.

Re: Difficult Choice of V8's
For the unofficial record, I had a 450 loaned to me whilst my 550 R was being serviced. I DID notice a difference in performance, but then as someone said, the 450 sometimes run higher BHP and likewise the 550s have been reported to run nearer the high 500s (580-590). There is obviously going to be...

Re: Someone’s having a laugh!!
I had a quotation from we buy any car.com for my 10,000 mile 2016 380S of £31,000
Jaguar UK online quoted me £31k to £34k depending on condition. I actually got £34k for it against a 2,000 mile 2021 P450 first Edition

Re: Difficult Choice of V8's
I have just changed from a 2016 380s to a 2021 p450 first edition and would highly recommend going for the newer facelift model with all its tech upgrades and more compliant suspension on our pockmarked roads. If you take the benchmark 0-60mph figures for the 550 and 450 bhp V8 engines there is 0.3 ...

Re: Supermarket Super Unleaded
You need to keep using super unleaded fuel (Shell, BP, Tesco, Costco etc) as the ECU "learns" the higher octane and allows more compression before ignition... more power and also better consumption. 95 RON should only be used if 97-99 is not available and certainly don't use E10 in F Type ...

V6S to V8 Upgrade
Decided to bite the bullet and trade in my 2016 V6S for a 2021 V8 First Edition with only a couple thousand miles on the clock. I was tempted to go for the AWD version by my head but my heart said RWD. The additional weight (100Kg) and the fact I don't need to drive in really bad weather made me cho...

Re: Suspension and poor ride comfort
I went on a rally driving course many years ago and the instructor gave Clarkson’s driving skills a mark of zero out of ten! Take a test drive on different surfaces and switch the suspension setting between normal and dynamic to feel the difference for yourself. I also swapped my tyres to Michelin P...
