Re: Service Cost
I just checked to see what I could get a 3-year plan for, and it's a significant saving over the standard costs listed on Jaguar's servicing site. Vertu have quoted me £1100 for the next 3 services, with MOTs, whilst Jaguar's site lists the prices as: Year 5 - £283 (basic oil and filter) Year 6 - £8...

Re: Car thefts - securing your F-Type
Interesting. Then it sounds like an additional key based on the VIN won't work with post 2015 cars either. I assume so, but then you know what they say about assumptions! Wrong link posted earlier. It was supposed to be this one: https://www.amazon.com/MITI-Protector-Anti-Theft-Locking-Device/dp/B0...

Re: Car thefts - securing your F-Type
The ODB cable in the video looks like a nice way of securing that side of things, but in terms of key security, it was confirmed on here by the top alpha dog man himself that The OBD port should only be vulnerable on cars older than 2015. In 2015 JLR changed the system so that the OBD is taken out o...

Re: Service Intervals
Covid or not (which also doesn't explain the 2018 missed service), I fail to see how 3 missing services qualifies for "Full Jaguar Service History" as noted in the advert. It was also being driven throughout these intervals, as evidenced by the MOT records, albeit not very much - nice to s...

Re: Boot Leak
I'm going to tackle this myself this week, as we have a few dry days (albeit a bit cold). I have long noticed a drip and line of water coming from the LHS roof airbag area when washing the car and took a look under the boot tubs the other day to find a pool of water (not deep enough to really cause...

Re: Owners Handbook
I'm not so sure that info would be in there anyway, even if it did exist :( Just had a look online at the PDF for the old XK and there's every bit of info on tyres you could ever ask for, but the only wheel dimensions given are for the spare/emergency wheel. There's an online version of the older F-...

Re: Head gasket failure on V8
If you do a DVLA check on the car, it is listed on their database as 'Black' . It just struck me as odd that this was another mismatched colour car following the one SimpleR noted the other day and it got me wondering whether it's because it's an SVO paint. It could simply be user error of course.

Re: Head gasket failure on V8
Interesting to note that it hasn't seen an official Jag service since January 2021, especially since it was apparently sold to a Jag dealer that diagnosed it as head-gasket failure (looked it up after seeing the VIN appear briefly in one of his sponsored Car Vertical bits). It's taxed and insured at...

Re: Head gasket failure on V8
Just looked at the US forum and nothing came up on a 'headgasket' search for the F-Type - the only hit was on a V6 engine and even then it wasn't actually confirmed to be the headgasket that went, just suspected. Two other threads popped up but neither turned out to be HG - one was actually a water ...

Re: Vehicle tax reduction
Just about the only thing that annoyed me about not being able to order an MY20 V6 car (Jag stopped taking orders just a few days before I tried to order one!) and 'having to settle' for the P450, was the £2000 first year - over £1K more than the V6 would have cost me. By the time the luxury uplift ...
