Re: Would you buy the F-type if it sounded like a "normal" sports car?
I've had my car now for 5 years and the car is 9 years old - so I think I'm one of the few thats hung on to it for such a long period. Over here, people go through cars when they get "bored" after 1-2 years. I've had mine for 7 years and the car is 8 years old! So there's at least 2 of us...

Re: Dynamic mode and traction control
Further to my earlier post and kookaburra1457's reply, I'd also be interested in what tyres you have fitted. In my own experience, the OEM Pirelli's aren't particularly grippy in the wet. I've found Michelin PS4S' to be much better. Also bear in mind that the "usual" tyres fitted are summe...

Re: Let The Honeymoon Commence!
Thanks for the full story. Yes, that whole experience sounds about right . That mpg of 29 sounds more or less correct too.

Re: Dynamic mode and traction control
I don't think Dynamic mode has any effect on traction control, however it does make the throttle inputs more sensitive. In other words, very light throttle inputs will feed in power quite quickly. In contrast, in Rain/Snow mode it takes a heavy right foot for anything much to happen at all. As the c...

Bienvenu, Lolo.
Wow, what happened that you needed an engine change!
Good luck with the sticky buttons.

Re: Gearbox Service
I bought the ZF kit from Ebay, see below, and my independent changed it for me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175416401900. European Gearbox Parts' service was fantastic. They confirmed this was the correct item by checking my VIN and the kit arrived with me next day (although as I'm in N. Ireland whic...

Re: Hi There - From Potential 'R' Owner In Lincolnshire!
Martin, Welcome to the forum. Back in 2019 I bought my V6S from a non JLR dealer. At the time, from memory, it was about £3.5k cheaper than an equivalent JLR used approved model. I thought at the time that the price difference would cover a fair amount of repairs, if necessary, in the difference bet...

Re: Tickover from cold start
Hi all, from a cold start do F-Types tick over fast initially (1300 or 1400 rpm) to "protect the catalytic convertor" ? I saw this on a YouTube clip a couple of nights ago. I then saw another last night saying Jaguar set up the car to "rev" on start up, but this only lasts a few...

I also put a post-it note on the steering wheel stating the same thing!
