One more thing to consider
The convertible has pooere rear vision than the coupe.
Having the rear cross traffic warning and rear camera are essential in my opinion with the vert, though I also beleive they are also important in any vehicle.

Re: Convertible Owners - what are they like in the winter?
I chose the convertible because I wanted the outdoor freedom that I used to get with my Spitfires and TRs back in the day. The trunk (boot) is quite small but manageable provided you only use soft luggage and pack carefully. We spent 2 weeks on a road trip with mixed wardrobes with no problem, thoug...

Re: Non OE spec tyres
While you may not need all-season tires in old England, they allow driving year round here in New England. I swapped my OE P-Zeros for Michelin PS AS 4's last Fall and plan to use them year-round. IMO they handle better than the P-Zero Summer tires (limit 45 degrees F). They are a little noisier but...

Regrettably, I do not think the F-Type's DNA will survive long.
F-Types are complex to maintain and parts will likely become hard to source.
My best guess is that the Jaguar brand will be dead before the 40 year mark.

Re: Difficult Choice of V8's
I think I have only managed to get my P380 over 100mph about 5x in the last 18 months.
Spec says 170mph - not likely on Massachusetts roads!!

Re: Difficult Choice of V8's
I would still go with the new(er) P450 to get the warranty. You will not even notice the difference compared to the R unless you want to track it, or are a total maniac and risk losing your license on a regular basis. The more I read on the F-Type forums, the convinced I am not to own one of these c...
