Decide on colour, budget, mileage, body type.....that should narrow your search a bit.

So its not a full service history.
If it is the car for you....maybe use that to haggle price down....as when (if) you come to sell it, it may be used by new buyer

I wouldn't be too hung up on how many owners. I would just generally check car over carefullyand ensure it's clean, tidy, well maintained.....it's easy to spot a abused car. Suppose if car is a second one in household, very little mileage per year, would you get service done every year? My current ftype was serviced back in Dec and has done around 200 mile since. Will I get it serviced in another 200mile / Dec? My last M3 for ref .....even dealer advised me to get servi...
