I had exactly the same issue but was fortunate enough to get mine replaced under warranty as it happened just before I bought the car and noticed it. Again it is a my18 so there is definitely sum thing sus about the near side unit.

Just left that in for entertainment purposes. That’s why I said at the end don’t copy me 🫣
