Re: Finally a nice weekend to get the wash kit out.

Very good - there are only 10 types of people in the world – those who understand binary, and those who don’t.

Re: Finally a nice weekend to get the wash kit out.

Good to see people enjoying their cars - either cleaning or driving - I enjoy both. Didn’t need to wash my car as it has been living under a car cover so I was greeted by already clean paintwork - went out for a drive and noticed a very binary mileage when I got home! Will need to do 10 extra miles ...

Re: C-Tek battery conditioner

Me too - no problem closing boot on cable. Incidentally how often do people plug their cars in? I tend to think if I use my car at least once a fortnight and drive the car for at least 30-40 minutes then battery doesn’t need a boost very often but maybe a different approach is better to optimise the...

Re: Opening the boot

I’m trying to recall but isn’t there something behind the rear number plate that might help? Maybe the key goes in there…someone with more knowledge than me will know!

Apple CarPlay - what apps do you use?

What Apple CarPlay apps do owners regularly use or recommend? For me it is: 1) Waze for sat nav - I use this on every journey mainly for live traffic info and good re-routing if traffic is bad (better than any in-built car satnav I’ve tried) 2) BBC sounds - good for radio 4 comedy on demand: Radio 4...

Re: Which V8 F Type is best

jagseven how do you find the wider screen, have you used the older one with buttons down the side? I have the buttons down the side and really like it, however it would be great if I had apple car play. I can upgrade my screen by LR Retrofit for about £1500. I’ve not used the older screen so cannot...

Re: Which V8 F Type is best

Don’t get too hung up on road tax - compared to insurance, servicing and the big one - depreciation (especially on a newer car) - road tax shouldn’t be a big deciding factor. Having said that my SVR road tax has just reduced to £180 which was a nice surprise - helps pay for a few tanks of fuel! The ...

Re: Service Intervals

I don’t think the service history would put me off given the low miles and the fact the most recent service was done at a main dealer (you’d hope they would have spotted if there were any age related issues). But as always the condition and price of the car will be key. Easy enough to put new tyres ...

Re: Head gasket failure on V8

What I can imagine is dealer admin team keying in from the factory supplied details from vin to colour, m9del, etc. and SVO ‘repaints’ not being reflected, or guessing which JLR colour it is. Yes - that makes sense - Jaguar supplies details that say the car is black so that’s what deal administrato...

Re: Head gasket failure on V8

If you do a DVLA check on the car, it is listed on their database as 'Black' . It just struck me as odd that this was another mismatched colour car following the one SimpleR noted the other day and it got me wondering whether it's because it's an SVO paint. It could simply be user error of course. ...
