Re: Preparing the underside for winter

Phil....I'm not new to moderating tasks. I have been a moderator on a few forums over the past few years and I've have experienced all sorts of tricky characters during that time. I have also during that time, come across moderators who over police their forums to very negative effect. If you had ta...

I think your comment here is rather uncalled for Phil....Unless your aim is to exacerbate tension.

Re: Quicksilver Corrosion Guard or AC50 corrosion blocker

All depends on access to various areas of the car and the equipment available to apply the liquid. The viscosity of the more durable ACF50 corrosion blocker makes it very difficult to apply using a conventional diy aerosol. Not sure about the Quicksilver product on that score, but I could imagine th...

Re: Preparing the underside for winter

It seems as though my prose was picked up as being a bit too confrontational. It wasn't meant to be. Just a straight to the point response, so I apologise up front, if I have offended Myer. Perhaps his response was just based on an aesthetic opinion rather than from a technical standpoint (?). Just ...

Re: Preparing the underside for winter

Wow, looking at those pictures of the "rustproofing" treatment it's scary! Who would want to apply such a horrendous treatment to their beautiful F-Type. Sorry but that sort of sealant really should be reserved for commercial vehicles! :( How have you come to that conclusion? Do you have ...

Re: Preparing the underside for winter

Thanks Jagster, that's made my mind up (doesn't take long !!) I think that with the money paid out to buy the F in the first place, the cost of keeping it rot free is small beer. Thanks again :) Your welcome Don :) As a matter of interest, and if you don't mind me asking, how much are they quoting ...

Re: Preparing the underside for winter

Hello Don. I guess it depends on the cost to have it done and you're attitude to the long term condition of your car. I did it because my intention is to keep my F-Type long term and I thought it was time and money well spent...plus, as I was doing the job myself, I would use the process as a way of...

Re: Powder coat wheels

Talk to these guys. They always do a good job for me.

http://www.aerocoat.co.uk/

I've had engine casings powder coated, springs, aluminium castings, forgings, stainless steel tubing, not to mention the wheels on my F-Type.

No problems on anything so far......Started using them in 2013.
