Re: Gearbox Service

I bought the ZF kit from Ebay, see below, and my independent changed it for me. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175416401900. European Gearbox Parts' service was fantastic. They confirmed this was the correct item by checking my VIN and the kit arrived with me next day (although as I'm in N. Ireland whi...

Opie's reply, "You need a 75w-90 GL5 for the diff. The best ones are the Motul Gear 300, Red Line 75w-90 GL5, Fuchs Titan Race Syn 5, Millers CRX, Amsoil Severe Gear and Gulf Competition. Castrol Transmax Universal LL/ Transmax Axle, Millers XF Premium MTF/ Nanodrive EE, Valvoline, Amsoil Sever...

Castrol came back with nothing.

Awaiting a response from Opie. Their online system didn't offer anything.

Re: Diff oil spec for a MY2018 V6 340hp

Enquiries are out there. My 'local' Jag dealer isn't that local (unfortunately). They have it in stock but aren't allowed to post liquids. Castrol themselves have asked for a bit more info from me regarding the exact model I have, and will then come back to me with the equivalent or recommended alte...

Re: Diff oil spec for a MY2018 V6 340hp

The current problem is, I'm struggling to find it anywhere. All the Google search places come up with it out of stock/currently unavailable. There's one on ebay, but the picture is offputting (looks like it's been kicking around in the back of a shed for years). Amazon, nothing. What's most disturbi...

Re: Diff oil spec for a MY2018 V6 340hp

Thanks Lunar.

I wasn't 100% sure which diff I had since I think there at leat 3 different types? I knew it wouldn't be the 'top' diff but wasn't sure about the rest in terms of which model variants and which year.
Good to know the plain vanilla diff has the least problems!

Re: Insurance gouge - here we go again...

Word of warning if you are using comparison sites and have them stored, ie you have an account, and you chop and change job titles these details are accessible to the insurer. They may ask you for proof of your job title on your contract of employment. I had a quote for a modded car last year as I ...

Re: Full comprehensive insurance or only mandatory insurance?

In the UK fully comp can often be cheaper than TPFT. Don't ask my how or why.

The next time you get a quote try both and see what differences there are. One thing the TPFT market is significantly smaller than the fully comp market.
