Re: Insurance gouge - here we go again...

Word of warning if you are using comparison sites and have them stored, ie you have an account, and you chop and change job titles these details are accessible to the insurer. They may ask you for proof of your job title on your contract of employment. I had a quote for a modded car last year as I ...

Re: Full comprehensive insurance or only mandatory insurance?

In the UK fully comp can often be cheaper than TPFT. Don't ask my how or why.

The next time you get a quote try both and see what differences there are. One thing the TPFT market is significantly smaller than the fully comp market.

I infer the 'throttle' must have stuck on as well otherwise it would have come to a halt relatively soon on a motorway with no power and just coasting.

Re: How long do/did you keep yours

1st one, 2 weeks (**** build quality) 2nd one, didn't even get registered in my name (got the order wrong & **** build quality) 3rd one, almost 7 years, so far. Between the 1st and 3rd I had a brand new loaner which would have been rejected on build quality if I was keeping it. Had it for 6 mont...

Re: Rattle in Headlining

Had it in my first F-type. I rejected the car within the first month when they told me the headlining would have to be removed through the windscreen to fix. (It wasn't the only issue with that car. the build quality was abysmal.)

Re: Rear washer bottle anti-syphon valve

I had something similar happen to the front reservoir on mine.
After success with anti-bacterial/sterilising tablets in another vehicle, I tried the same in the Jag. A few flush throughs later no further problems. Still periodically chuck a couple in when refilling.

Re: Oil change: extractor VS drain plug

If that really is the case with the extractor tube then it's a very poor implementation. (I did my own test with my Mercedes Vito by inserting a tube to the bottom of the sump down the dipstick tube, draining, and then undo the drain plug. Nothing, not even a drop.) If I understand correctly, a tube...

Re: Power Steering Failure - Help

Update after diagnostics: Long list of error codes. Car was told it had a new battery. Apparently needs to be done so it knows how to charge a new battery rather than an old battery! Delete the error codes and rerun. Various error codes that don't initially make sense. These were sent to Jaguar for ...
