Re: 2016 Battery Indicator
BMS reconfigures itself anyway after a bit. Theres loads on this on XE forums, as the early cars had an 80ah battery which has since been superceded with a 95ah unit. Mine reconfigured itself 2 miles up the road (the giveaway is that the stop/start gets enabled, apparently).

Re: 2016 Battery Indicator
All said as above I’d replace now at 8 years whilst you have time to shop around and get a deal, rather than a panic buy when one of the cells fails and it won’t even start. I've had batteries of similar age just die, as C10jeeper mentioned. One battery started the car without a problem and got the...

Re: Aftermarket Brake Pads
Porterfield (US) and Pagid (Germany) get used quite a bit.I think.
I've had Pagid on a number of cars and found indies quite often had used them, when I came to change the pads myself later on.

Re: Car key issue
The key fobs are always live, so even a spare key that is never used will discharge the battery. It's always recommended to replace the batteries in both fobs at the same time for this reason 18 months is about right. Mine wouldn't lock using the button recently (but would if you started the engine ...

Re: Anyone seen this issue before?
Usually it's due having difficulty getting a signal or the Telematics battery pack doesn't have enough charge.
There's a NiCad battery pack behind the panel between the seats. It stops charging after a number of cycles like any other battery. Probably needs replacing

Re: Exhaust Valves - Misbehaviour?
The valves should be open when the engine is not running. On start-up it depends the age of car and software updates applied in simple terms, I think early cars (before say mid 2018 ish) can use the button or dynamic mode to simply open/close the valves (the MY16 V6 I had was like this). Later cars ...

Re: Hello from the nearly North
It'd be ideal if they would remove fuse 15 for part of your test drive. Gives it a proper V8 burble at low revs, so much better. Probably not something the dealers should do, I suppose.
