Re: What does your forum name mean?

Not too much thought required. Captain is my title at work and Midlife because my good lady said I was having one of those crises when I said I wanted another toy for the garage. Probably a bit late as I don't expect to live to 116 years old 8-)

Re: New to the f type.

Midwife? I could get used to that! I tried both the 335 and the 375 engines. To me there wasn't any perceptible difference below 4000rpm and as I'm now well past midlife I rarely take it up there so it didn't seem to matter to me. The biggest difference was that there are quite a few more poverty sp...

Re: New to the f type.

Hello Quiet Man & Welcome. I hope you enjoy your toy when you get it. I just love that name on an F-Type Forum! There's a thread about names in the off topic section. Do tell. As well as Lunar's list, on older cars scored side windows and surface corrosion on the rear cross braces are very commo...

Re: Maybe soon

Looks like I have just joined the fold after the test drive. Convertible V6S AWD in British racing green. 65 plate with 12000 miles on the clock. Being delivered next week, feels like Christmas again 😀 Welcome aboard. It does look like a stunner in both looks and history. Glad I didn't put you off!

Re: Maybe soon

Test driving a V6S I racing green but with the optional AWD tomorrow. Is there anything I should look out for? Noticed that the performance figures are a tad slower than AWD, I presume that to mere morals this won’t be noticeable. The car is at Harwoods Jaguar in Crawley. Anyone have any good or ba...

Re: Retro fit cruise control

I'm no authority on this but Cruise was in my list of must haves, it's a licence saver. I did find the ideal car without it and did some questioning. Both specialists I talked to said that the cars are all built to spec and wiring looms are bespoke to each car. I found it hard to fathom but both gar...

Re: Car insurance

Morning all what company is the cheapest to go with v6 S. 2014 , got my renewal come in at £774.00 ????, Thanks Wal A few too many variables to compare but in Oct '19 I paid £188 plus the usual £30 legal cover. This year after haggling it was reduced from £454 to £259 + legal. That's with Admiral M...

Re: Jaguar Dealers and my rights

Thanks for all the info. Main dealer experience here is mainly quite negative then! Forewarned is forearmed. I'll stick with Harwoods this time but ask exactly what they do for their wedge. Price wise there's only £50 in it but I also want them to look at the cross braces plus the side window scratc...
