Re: Car revved on a cold engine

For anyone interested it turned out to be a failed solenoid. I have no idea what that means but they said they’ll talk me through it when I pick it up.

Oh and I got a Range Rover Evoque (with loads of options!) as a hire car.

Re: Car revved on a cold engine

I think if the car is in there for any longer than 10 days, I’ll be kicking up a fuss. I paid 40% of the value in cash for a 2 year, 0% contract (no monthly payment) so as far as I’m concerned, I have paid for an F-Type for 2 years and that’s the deal... Phoned the dealership and they said they’ve h...

Re: Car revved on a cold engine

Thanks all. This makes me feel less annoyed/upset about what happened. I’ve been obsessive about making sure the engine was warm before attempting anything close to enthusiastic driving. But as rightly pointed out, the car was probably still coated in warm oil and it won’t have done anything. Finger...

Re: Car revved on a cold engine

Interesting, i thought there was a limiter too but I was convinced I saw the needle up nearer the 6k mark as was my passenger who was in the car at the time...

Car revved on a cold engine

My 9 month old F-Type started juddering at a set of lights last night and the engine warning light started flashing so I immediately pulled over and turned the car off. Called Jaguar Assist (who were absolutely useless but I’ll save that for another time). They ended up farming the job of assistance...

Re: Observations from a new owner

So it’s the fuse box in the passenger compartment? Fuse 15. Take it out and it shouldn’t throw a warning light or anything?

Re: Observations from a new owner

Thanks. And is as simple as just pulling the fuse and putting it back when you want it to work again? Where do I locate the fuse box etc?

Re: Observations from a new owner

Re pulling fuse 15 - Does this effectively just save you having to put the car into Dynamic mode and leave the exhaust open all the time? Or is there still a difference between dynamic mode being on and off even with fuse 15 pulled?
