The 3.0 is derived from the 5.0 so should be as reliable. VAP make upgrades for both engines.

Re: New arrival - P380 AWD Convertible
I'm not sure. It's a '68' plate (September 2018) but it has the older type infotainment system so I guess was made in early 2018. If it has the 8" screen it was likely made in early 2017, as they were fitted to the early MY18s. You can check the MY from digit 10 of your VIN - H is MY2017, J fo...

Re: Which V8 F Type is best
Road tax is hefty though at over £650 a year You need to look for an early MY18, post-March 2017 registration. Nice loud exhaust (IME) and car tax of £180 at my last renewal. And 8" screen wth physical buttons, which I prefer, I use a USB stick for my music (but mainly listen to the 4 speakers...

Re: Service Intervals
What’s meant by an Arduous Interim Service”? (Completed by Beadles in March 2019) I've seen this mentioned a few times and believe it to be when a vehicle is operated in harsh environments (e g. Very dusty or lots of short journeys) causing oil to degrade quicker and filters to become blocked soone...

It's good to downsize - I downsized from a 503 bhp XKR to a smaller, more economical 543bhp car!

Re: Head gasket failure on V8
... I was told by the Jaguar dealer I purchased the car from that the cars are painted on the usual production line in black (or white) before being taken to SVO paint booth for final colour so V5 can show incorrect colour. Not convinced by that since the DVLA details are submitted when the car is ...

Re: Head gasket failure on V8
My 2004 XKR was on the DVLA database as (only) an XK8 so when I bought it in 2009 I had an interesting time making sure my insurance was valid! I had to get a letter from JLR stating the car type before DVLA would change the V5C. Initial registrations can be a bit error-prone.
