I get a lot of cars driving closely but I just think they want to see what make and model it is. F Types are still relatively rare on the roads.

Hammerite is regularly used is for this purpose. I used it successfully on my Lotus Elise. The decals can be bought on eBay.

When it happened to me it was found to be a faulty alternator which is what I suspected and what the AA confirmed. It did take three visits to the dealership, two of them on the back of a transporter, to convince the dealer though.

You can buy a brake fluid tester pen for around £5. Dipping this into the reservoir will indicate whether there is any water in the fluid. If there isn’t it doesn’t need changing. This was demonstrated to me by a tech when he checked my Lotus Elise fluid.

I’ve always found specialist independents far superior to main dealerships. In my case that has been Mercedes, Lotus and Porsche. When I had this message it turned out to be a faulty alternator. This is what I told the dealership when it was recovered and was confirmed by the AA. After 2 weeks and three visits to the dealers where they denyed it they caved in and changed it. All has since been well for 5 months. Also possible ...
