Re: Bus Pass Owners

Yes, I'm eligible for a bus pass. Unfortunately, out here in the sticks the nearest bus is a two mile walk away and nowhere to park when I get there. I believe '2 Jags' Prescott was supposed to be sorting out an integrated transport policy at one time. God help us if 'one bike' Corbyn gets in! :D

Re: Long time F Type owner...

There’s a video of how to do it on youtube. It looks a bit fiddly but obviously not impossible!

Re: Alternator failure.

As far as I’m aware that’s a fuse. The main thing is to ensure that the negative is wired to an earth terminal and not to the battery negative as there is an intermediate battery control module prior to the negative terminal of the battery which monitors the charging current.

Re: Alternator failure.

In all things I do I try to know a bit more about the subject than the one advising me. Sometimes I wonder why I bother to ask for advice. Perhaps it’s just for reassurance! 🤞

Re: Alternator failure.

It’s home after an uneventful 25 mile drive. Delighted to have it back. I spoke to the technician who did the job and he gave me all the details including replacing the faulty gateway module and the alternator. Everything checked out after a test drive yesterday plus an overnight rest to ensure the ...

Re: Engine Flush / Oil Conditioning? (2nd Service)

My father put flushing oil into his 2.4 Jag back in the 60’s and it had to have new engine bearings. I’m sure things are different now but personally I wouldn’t touch it with a long pole!

Re: Alternator failure.

Well, as I suggested at the beginning of this saga that the alternator was faulty it now seems that it is. A new one has been ordered for fitting tomorrow.
