Traded in the AMG for F-Type V8!

Know how you felt. I ,too, was getting a bit stiff for the Elise and I felt like a change from the Porsche. Can't knock a 911 and I wouldn't say the F type is better - just different! Very happy with my choice.

Traded in the AMG for F-Type V8!

I traded in my Lotus Elise and my 911 for my S coupe. Bit of a wrench at the time to loose two great sports cars but at 73 I thought it was about time for an old man's car! The other alternative was a Nissan Micra.

I take back what I posted earlier. It doesn't make a scrap of difference. On normal start up the rev counter swings round all the way to 8000 but that is not the true engine speed - that would be horrific!. Using the other method the engine revs up to 2500 and then falls back. The noise is just the ...

Any way to start up F Type quietly?

Thanks for that tip. It just revs up to about 2500 and falls back to idle. I always thought the full revs was a bit unneccessary.

The passengers are protected by airbags. The styrene foam is designed to prevent low speed impact damage (around 5 mph) to the vehicle.

I've just checked and it's there on my S. Does not interfere with the air flow over the radiator but it appears to be there for a reason. Perhaps it's part of the cushioning in the event of a collision. All modern cars seem to have something like this both front and rear.

Stop/start will restart the engine if there is a demand for power - usually the air conditioning at this time of the year.
