Re: Petrol smell on startup
It's worth clearing out that drain in the lower edge. Nothing to do with your vapour smells, but it is designed to get any rain or even fuel spills out without running down the paintwork. I asked my indie to clean that drain when the car went in for a service.MOT last week and he said it was blocke...

Re: Jaguar wave..
Of course. And E-Types. I sometimes lapse into waving at XKRs, too, forgetting that I got rid of mine in 2018!
And I got in a nicely sorted convoy last Friday when I followed an E-Type for a while - the alphabetical order was good for my OCD.

Re: Dynamic mode and traction control
I think it must have been the spillage that caused it as it was a very gentle breakaway rather than a sudden snap sideways which points towards a slippery surface rather than anything more sinister. Just not have to drive it in the rain!!! My not-so-local dealership organised a "drive an F-Typ...

Re: Petrol smell on startup
I've never noticed a petrol smell on startup, even when the car has been sitting for 4 or 5 days. MIne's a V8, maybe there's a differencee with the V6 engines (but I can't imagine why)?
If you have a code reader you could check if any codes are set.
Hope you get to the bottom of it!

Bear in mind that the heated and cooled seats don't use a heating element but Peltier cells and fans to supply the conditioned air through the leather. Don't expect them to be as hot as electric pads, but they should definitely be hot.

Re: Let The Honeymoon Commence!
Selling F-Types must be the easiest job in the world - just let the customer see it and drive it. Job done! :D And you're right that they are surprisingly frugal for a big V8 - I got 34 mpg when I took a friend to Heathrow airport from Southampton. Have you noticed that the start button backlight pu...

The US forum has numerous threads about this issue, which seems to be more affected in warmer climes, and had been resolved, I believe, around MY18.

Re: Hi There - From Potential 'R' Owner In Lincolnshire!
The same can't be said for a vehicle costing £30K upwards as both parts and labour will be exponentially greater due simply to the prestige value of the marque - although this is only my personal opinion of course. Not "only" a personal opinion - a very sensible one! :) If you're buying a...

How many miles? I think ZF's recommendation is 60,000 miles per change.
