Hi All

First time post on this forum...excellent btw and great reading. (Sorry in advacne for thie long post below!)

I am looking to buy my first ever high performance car and have chosen the F-type SVR - Simply gorgeous and so different to a standard Porsche or R8 and Aston's tech is just too old and plain inside. SVR hits the spot i think

What would you guys think is this cars best colour? Two choices for me were Ultra Blue or Corris Grey - Quiet different I know, but I have never owned a wild colour before so thinking of going Ultra Blue. Anyone with Ultra Blue out there got any pictures, and likewise those that went with the Grey?

SimpleR I have follwed a few threads where you have extracted amazing information and was wondering where you get all this from as I would like to do a background check on two cars too. Can you help with this? My biggest fear is buying a car over £75k which has been regulary thrashed in its early life, I would struggle to live with the knowledge my car went through that. Buying new is not an option for me!

Is there any chance someone can give me pointers to look out for or background on these two:
1.Reg: BK66 LSD - Great colour and spec but been on sale at Redline for ages and keeps dropping in price, no idea why
2.Reg: RV18 HBF - Looks nice with good spec - No carbon pack but can live with it.

Finally - Anyne know the cost of Carbon Creamic replacements? I'm worried about this as a Jaguar Dealer quoted me £19,700 for full discs and pads!!! I fell off my chair! thats incredible if not borderline insane. Surely that cannot be correct?

Any thoughts please let me know.

Thank you

I know they're expensive, but I understand in their defence that the discs will last for a very long time.

PDI at a main dealer (not a rental company such as Paragon) and Full Jaguar Service History

Not taxed since 09-JAN-19 which I presume is when it was last sold. Presume outside of Jaguar dealer network as it is not down as Jaguar used approved.

It has Michelin tyres not the factory P-Zero's. I think everyone will agree that is a good thing!

The only time that registration appears on internet is when it was spotted in Cardiff area on 05-JUN-18.
https://www.autogespot.co.uk/jaguar-f-t ... 2018/06/05

The only other blue SVR with red brakes which comes back on a tagged photo is this one here:
http://www.premierevelocity.com/car/jag ... e-svr-hire
I am NOT saying that this is the vehicle in question as number plate is blurred out in photos. All other tagged photos of blue SVR come back with yellow brakes (ceramic). Also the car for sale has solid Jaguar inserts in the front wings, you see this on the redline website and spotted link above. It's difficult to tell from the hire company naff resolution photos but they don't look like the normal black mesh inserts that you see for example on the black SVR at redline. Just thought I would mention it. Obviously check the V5C to see previous owner information.

With any second hand car, consider getting an independent inspection and report done to ensure it is finance free, not been involved in an accident, etc.

Too new to be tagged on any photos online. PDI and for sale at same dealer so they should be able to give you all the history.

Still taxed so might be dealers car? Note it attracts £310 premium on road tax. Jaguar used approved so will have full warranty for 2+ years.

It should be possible to get Android Auto and Apple Car Play installed as a software update as this vehicle is listed as MY19 - check with the dealer.

Registered on DVLA system as BLACK but is actually GREY (have seen this before with another forum member lookup). It is also on car insurance database as black so I would get that corrected from an insurance point of view if it was me..... but up to you of course.

With any second hand car, consider getting an independent inspection and report done to ensure it is finance free, not been involved in an accident, etc. However as this is Jaguar Used Approved they should provide evidence and do this anyway.

Simple R...thank you so much for this, seriously a legend for what you give out to this forum!

Really torn with the colour...I did an onwership history check on the Blue SVR at Redline and it is a 3 owner car, think its difficult when you become the 4th and then look to sell it on from my experience.

Love the Ultra Blue, really in your face popping colour but the grey does look great if a bit plain!

Yes, I assume you mean the discs rather than pads, but jaguar service reckoned they last less than the standard steel! Not sure if their information is reliable.

Hi,
I don’t know if you saw it but I posted my first post just before you.
I recently bought a new SVR in ultra blue. I’ve previously owned a black one - for one thing it was tricky to keep clean!
I think the grey is dull, sorry, don’t wish to offend anybody.
I narrowed mine down to either Caldera red or Ultra blue. I, too, was worried about the blue being too in your face but I saw ‘basic’ F types in those colours, side by side, in the dealership. I erred towards the blue and when I saw an SVR in Ultra blue I knew it was the one! Far from being too in your face I think it looks stunning!
I’ll let you decide as photos are attached.
I also agree with your views of other super cars. Pound for pound, the SVR is amazing value.
I wish you the very best and enjoy the experience, whichever you go for!

Blakums - seriously WOW! your ultra blue looks incredible, esp with the carbon pack and privacy glass! Hardly any have privacy glass but it gives the car such a great rear profile.

I’m jealous of that one for sure! Would be my ideal car!
