Hi there, I have just put a deposit down on a MY18 F-type R-Dynamic P300 as a part exchange for a MY16 XE P250 R-sport. Hopefully I am not making a mistake by not spending an extra £10k for a P340, which frankly would be beyond my budget.
Any comments are welcome as I expect to take delivery in 2 weeks time or so.

Two weeks is going to feel like a long time! Whichever F type engine you buy, I think you'll always want a bigger one (unless you own an SVR). I want a V8, merely for more noise as the V6 is plenty fast enough. But do I need one, not really (but on the other hand.........). Oh, I don't think I can help as I can't decide myself . Any F type is a good decision anyway.

What Mick said, except I'd disagree that SVR owners don't hanker after a bigger one, that's why tuners exist!mickjaguar wrote: ↑Sun Jan 12, 2020 11:44 am Two weeks is going to feel like a long time! As to "need", no-one really even needs the P300 but, like all F-Types, they're gorgeous!
Enjoy it!

@ianp.
Welcome to the forum ! I drive a P300 since april 2018, my son [19yrs] shares in the fun. Wife and both adult daughters
like to come along for a spin too.. I never thought that I was short of power. I had an SVR on loan for a day, drove a V6
coupe and P300 cabrio also. The only thing I can say is : the SVR would have cost me my license by now ! That machine
is so eager to go-faster, and you don't really notice as its so smooth..
I just bought a 25tawd F-Pace for family trips to replace my 2006 LR Discovery 3, these are huge boots to fill for the FP..
..and it doesn't at all..
But it rides smooth, steers nearly as well as the F-Type, but has 250hp. Now I can not state if that is enough or short ;
we did 600km sofar and that's all thats clocked in its life sofar. We need to go up to 3500km before we rev it above 3500.
We were very patience and carefull with the F-Type. After 3500km we did a 'top speed test' on the Autobahn, about one
hour from where we live in the Netherlands. The rev-limiter cut it out at 249kmph..
We repeated the test after 16000km I believe [ about 6 months ago], then it got to 257 no rev-limiter... We could not try
again as it was to dense traffic getting near rush hour.
In due time we will test the F-Type again [ now 26.000km ], maybe againt the F-Page althoug that topspeed is much lower.
How did you fare with the 250hp XE ? Never longed for the 30t engine ?

Hi Ian looking great, very similar to mine, but was looking at the rear picture and was wondering why it looked different to mine, then realised the little dash between the F and type is missing.

Hi Phil, beautiful car and very similar spec to mine. Interesting about the dash but on my last car, an XE 250, I actually removed all the badges and only the double exhaust was a clue to the power or fuel. I'm considering doing the same here and leave people to guess, if they can be bothered that is. I would absolutely go for the meridian surround but ensure that I had the 11 inch inTouch Pro.

Hi ian, yes we even have the same wheels! My Meridian is much better now I've found the dealer had set the balance way too far rearwards and the front speakers were doing nothing!!! It was all boom and vibration, with tinny treble.
Yes if you removed the P300 you should probably lose the F-Type too to keep it looking balanced.
Its quite frustrating having bought mine end of Oct, it spent most of the wet winter in the garage and now the weathers good we cant go out! Oh well theres a lot of far worse things happening at the moment, so cant complain.

Mine's a shopping trolly for Tesco. Was going direct by the high street a 4 mile round trip and the car kept warning me of battery too low. I now go one junction on the M1 either way so now its a 20 mile round trip but the car is charging the battery correctly.
