Hi Guys,

Jonny from Newcastle here.

Just bought myself a 15 plate F Type R.

Hasn’t arrived yet but excited to say the least.

I’ve wanted this car for over 5 years but the time came where I could afford it and I went for it.

I don’t know much about functions so was wondering if someone could help on if there was an oil temp garage? I always waited for my previous car (Audi S3) to get to 70-80c before I opened it up.

Cheers!

Welcome to this great forum, all you need to do is wait for car to get up to Temp on the garage no more than 5mins. Then you are good to go...regards fez.

Welcome to the clan.

Nope, useful guages I'm afraid are a thing of the past.

That's why I run Torque Pro. You can see everything that should be displayed on the dash.

Don't rely on the water temp gauge as an indication of oil temperature because the rise in oil temp lags a long way behind...that said, it's a rough guide, and that's all there is as standard.

From watching the recorded graphs in TP I would say the oil gets to 95 within 10 minutes of light driving.

That’s a shame! Really found that useful.

Thanks for the info, I will look into that!

Can you tell us a bit more about Torque Pro please Tel - maybe in a new thread.

Interested in compatibility, cost, set up (OBD / Bluetooth), hints and tips sort of stuff in your experience.

It looks quite good - how have you found it?

Agreed Lunar.

Tel - would be really useful to hear a bit more about your experiences and what OBD2 scanner you've bought etc.. Looks like a really useful bit of kit for us who quite like a bit of data :D
