Hi All,
I bought my 1st F type and for that fact Jag early 2019. It was an AWD R. Had it remapped and then decided to sell it as we didn't really gel.
Anyway, wanted to see what the Rarer RWD version was like so bought a 64 plate in white again today.
There seemed to be floods everywhere I went on the way home, so didn't really get a chance to open up the taps (Pun not intended ). The shape of the F Type is just so pretty and with the road presence, that I had to have it after my 1st viewing a few days back. I thinknInprefer its looks to the new version released recently. Anyway,.. It's got all the typical must have spec you would imagine, but no heated steering wheel. I have a feeling I will get on better with this RWD version with new MPS tyres
Here's a pic I just took. ...Looks like rain again.
Back in to an R
I have (as well as other owners) and always will sing praises for the RWD...I compared it to the SVR!
Can't remember which car mag said that the AWD felt numb compared tot he RWD, but that pretty much nails it on the head from my standpoint.
The RWD is indeed a rare beast making it's debut after we had our first V8S RWD in 2014 - They make the best power to weight and if you pick the model carefully you can also shed more weight, for example all the compressor, reservoir and plumbing for exhaust flaps was deleted, the hydraulics for the steering went, and so did the second battery.
I look forward to hearing how you get on with this in comparison the AWD - Keep us updated.
