During 2020 I made a difficult decision to sell my XJ-SC 3.6 manual and go for a modern Jag. If I had the space and an understanding wife I would have kept my old car due to the retro look, being a rare manual and the exceptional condition. I was surprised to sell my XJS during the winter and this started my look for an F type.
The car I fancied was at Droitwich but the downside was it is about 3hrs drive. I was determined to view it as I loved the colour, it was a manual, had 12 months warranty, new MOT and full Jag service history.
The model is an early 2017 3.0 V6 supercharged manual with 45k mileage. As with all of my cars I always read the forums to get some background to reliability and pointed me to the brace strut corrosion and active exhaust issues. Sadly I did not pick this up at the time of buying the car as I was keen to get this rare manual. After lengthy communication with Jaguar I eventually got new braces and a silencer fitted. (Active exhaust issue started about 2 month after purchase). For me now this car is a keeper and I just need to work out if I need to get another extended warranty or a service plan with Jaguar at the end of 2021.

Sorry, you think a 3 hour drive home in an F-Type is a downside?

BTW, you may have made the wrong choice when considering getting rid of XJS or wife!

I stand corrected- the drive home was great it was the Covid restrictions that made it difficult. Regarding the wife input - she had the type of job that made it possible to own this type of car so I have to be diplomatic with her involvement.
