I bought the carbon fibre bonnets vents in the sale. They were available as options from new but just one was £742 (the other was around £450 bizarrely) so way too expensive. In the sale it was about £270 for both I think. Beautifully made and easy to fit, the original black plastic ones would show stains and scratches as soon as you look at them, carbon ones all good so far.WillowFType wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:43 am I see that there are carbon fibre genuine parts on Jaguar website under their clearance section - would these have been able to be specc’d from factory? Thinking about upgrading the bonnet louvres, side vents and mirror caps but don’t want to over-modify - thoughts?

Really pleased to hear you are getting your issues resolved by the dealer. If you like the carbon look accessories go for it as they are genuine Jaguar they will look like they are meant to be there. I have the carbon mirror covers but left bonnet and side vents satin grey, as it matches the other satin grey on the car. Is the dealer paying you for the battery you fitted?WillowFType wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 11:43 am I see that there are carbon fibre genuine parts on Jaguar website under their clearance section - would these have been able to be specc’d from factory? Sounds like a good call. I guess the covers are already black so carbon would just add an additional touch of class.Chrisjaglover wrote: ↑Wed Jun 30, 2021 4:38 pmReally pleased to hear you are getting your issues resolved by the dealer. Yes they are paying for the battery too - once I explained the £145 for a new battery was a lot cheaper all round than investigative labour, door solenoids etc etc!
Hello
Lovely looking example, you must be pleased with you new purchase
Just for info I have owned mine from new (may 2017) and has been faultless in every respect ... but I do use a CTEK trickle charger that seems to keep the gremlins at bay

Quick update (for those interested)
Car back from garage today… o2 sensor was located in the exit of the cat, it stripped the thread being taken out (Sod’s law), but apparently the Indy jag specialist are starting to see quite a few f types in for sensors recently. Queue lots of phone calls eventually sorted with some clever pipe work, welding and a slightly different location for the sensor.
Windscreen washer pump replaced as well now all is good in the world, i finally have a working vehicle.
On the plus side it managed 1,000 miles in the south west last week without missing a beat which is a true test!
Now just waiting for my carbon fibre bits

Glad all your issues are resolved and your car is now running well.
I have just fitted the carbon bonnet and side vents also. Bonnet vents or 'louvres' are a doddle but side vents a different animal. The official instructions advise to drill two 12mm holes and thread a cable tie through said holes and pull the vent out which seemed harsh. However, with the bonnet open and door open you can lever with your hands the side vent just enough to slip the cable table behind it and remove the vent (or louvre) without the need for drilling holes. It does take a fair bit of persuasion but does come out. Fitting the new ones takes about 30 seconds.
Hope this helps.
