I have owned a succession of new Porsche over the last 12 years but after recent experiences with Porsche dealerships and their arrogance, I am looking to switch brand. I am considering ordering a P450 coupe, and so I have joined this forum to discover more about the car. I have a test drive next week.

Welcome Chiverm.
The F is a very different animal to a Porsche - likely slower against the clock and less nimble and incisive, BUT, you’ll have far more fun and smiles driving an F I’m sure.
Oh, and sorry but the dealers are just as poor, but find a good indie and you’ll be fine.
Maybe a bit of a blunt precie but sums it up.

And if you're in the UK, other drivers may well be more favourably disposed to you in a Jaguar, than a Porsche! ;)
BTW. not all dealers are bad, but it can be a bit of a postcode lottery to find a good one.

911's are great cars , have a water cooled turbo , very very different to the v8awd F type , the Jag feels a bit heavy which it is for some reason despite ali construction , but when you have driven it a few miles great fun and very fast with lovely sound track . Also very comfortable for great distances . F types and 911's are probably two of the most exciting cars on the road .

There are lots of reasons to consider an F Ttpe. But I woudn't let my experience with a dealer dictate which type of car I bought. If you decided to get the F Type I'm sure Porsche and the dealership would cope.

@Chivern__ Get an F-Type ! I owned a humble P300 from new until early october.

We simply didn't use it enough after some years, (3rd car). We did 36k km in it, trips to the Alps, Pyrenees, Algarve.

And just touring the area we live. But that was mostly with my son, and he is very bizzy with uni, wife didn't like the F.

On our trips we hardly encountered another F-Type, so you have a high 'exclusivity factor' . We saw thousands of Porches.

Even in Italy ; droves of Porches. Italian driver said that Italian cars are to expensive to keep, so Porsche is for cheap skates..

Go and enjoy the testdrive. Leave the traction control on to begin with..

Porsche ~ Accurate, perfect to drive, common as muck and rightly so.

Jaaag - Not so accurate, but their downfall is made up with character, something that the Germans lack.
Becoming more common the more people that buy them.. So no, stick with yer Porker! 😉
