Hi all,
I’ve just bought a 2016 V6S Coupe in Ultimate Black. Only travelled 25000 km’s. It has pano roof, power tailgate, black Jet seats & trim with red stitch & 20” Cyclones. Just finding my way around it. Surprised to find it lacking in a lot of features my 99 XKR has as standard. I do love the driving experience though! I bought my first Jaguar in 1982, a Series 1 XJ6, at age 20 and have owned Jaguars ever since - 23 in total - Mk2’s various XJ’s XJS’s, XK8/R, X & S Types, E-Types etc. Is the F-Type the best yet? So far I’m impressed and I love the styling. I guess time will tell but I do love my 3.8 E-Type!

Welcome to the forum. You certainly have a good Jaguar history! What features is the F-Type lacking from the XKR (apart from the rear "seats" and two cylinders :))? I've had an XK8 and a couple of XKRs (2004 and 2010) and I reckon the F-Type is a class above them.

Power fold door mirrors was something I was surprised wasn’t standard. Also fore & aft seat adjustment. I mean I can live without these things, just surprised they aren’t included as they are on many lesser marques.

Welcome , I own a 14 ftype v6s vert , my mate George owned a 2010 xkr coupe had it tuned stage one to 560bhp what a beast , his words the f type is much more driver focused and even the v6s is a handful if driven right and more modern looking , he was impressed by my car

Different specs on every F type , mine has folding mirrors and power adj seats , you just have to check before you buy . glad to see you have an e type , I have a v12 coupe . The let down of the F type so far has been the steel chassis braces corrosion which wasn't seemingly made a priority to galvanise or make of alloy , goodness knows what they thought would happen to all this steel in contact with water and salt ! Anyway am in the process of having these galvanised now .

Yes I considered a late 5.0 XKR primarily for the extra space but the F is a better and more modern looking beast. I looked at Aston V8 Vantage too - my mate has a 2010 4.7 - but I am a Jag man! Since taking delivery of mine I realise how many options there are to be had but unless you buy new I guess you have to compromise. The 20” wheels, pano roof, reverse camera, heated jet seats and power hatch were the check list and it ticks all those boxes.
Thanks for the heads up on the chassis braces. Luckily the car is in a temperate climate so not subjected to salt at least!

Cheers,
Pete

You get used to the front scraping after a while. My drive has a drop and if I stop at the wrong spot and then drop the front I hear it but normally I ease it down. Also go a different way to our local shops to avoid one particular speed bump. But some drives are just too steep at car parks and doesn’t matter if I hit at 45 degrees it will still scrape.
