Want to fit a small number plate to black cross grill same as in picture where the reg plate usually goes, picking car up from dealer next week but forgot to measure the height of the bar, i know it curves a bit top and bottom, but taking this into consideration i want to go around 5mm above and below the bar, can anyone give me a size of what suits if i leave it the 5mm above and below. Any pictures of fixed small plates.

Hi
Reducing your front plate to the extent you describe is likely to attract enforcement attention. The fixed penalty being £100 or alot more if the matter goes to court. It will also make your car less easily identifyable in the event that it is stolen.
Personally I don't think that a standard plate detracts from the look of the car, but ultimately you pays your money and you takes your choice.

Here’s what I did by cut and shut of the mount, filling and respraying the bar to remove old mount holes and fitting a dvla compliant small plate

I'm in Ireland and the local constabulary don't pass any remarks on plates, they're more interested in if you have your insurance, mot and road tax, here in ireland we have different designs and fonts on cars, all depends if you get a really awkward guard, rarely any problem.

Bumper cover off. Dismantle grille, fill holes & pro respray
Plate mount _ Measure size required to hold smaller plate. Cut centre strip out using decent mitre saw, plastic weld pieces.
Rebuild
Not quick and easy, but looks very OEM

Or remove plate completely :) Get caught with a non comforming plate you’re much more likely to get a fine as there is no excuse, run no plate and it could easily have fell off
