If you do take up the extended warranty, make sure that you make a note of a week before it's expiry date. I'd been relying on their email/letter notifications, but this year I didn't receive any and now i'm two months out and they're refusing to renew it without an inspection! Have a funny feeling they don't want it to be renewed...

Thanks for the thoughts.

I know DAE are highly regarded as performance upgrade specialists but are there any specialist Jaguar/F-Type garages near London for routine service requirements?

Is that a separate subscription service?

After having my little Fiesta ST Chavrocket stolen recently, I'd be keen to retain my poor man's tracker when the warranty expires later this year...
Just renewed mine - £30 for another 12 months. I was sent an email offering renewal 1 month before the 3yr Anniversary.

Does that also include the breakdown cover too?

I've just renewed the InControl via the reminder email at £30. This merely enables the app, providing remote start, journeys etc and the emergency and recovery buttons (not breakdown/recovery itself). Extended warranty can be quoted for on the Jaguar website, where two prices are given, including or excluding european breakdown/recovery. I can't remember what the cost of the breakdown add-on was but something like £90 I think, overall £769 for the warranty+breakdown., which can be paid monthly.

my car had 6 months manufacturer warranty and 18 months used car warranty when I bought it. I'm looking to purchase an extended warranty but didn't realise they cost so much.... I'll start looking into now as it runs out in June.

It is currently with JLR dealer at the moment as it was advertised with heated seats when I bought it but I then realised it did not have them. I argued with JLR and now they are retro-fitting them.

Update - after waiting months (they had the car for the new wiring loom they took my car in 2 weeks ago (March 2019) and told me 2 days. 2 weeks later they told me there was a software problem and it won't recognise or operate the heated seats! They left the car sitting in their yard without telling me.

For anyone buying an approved Jag it is possible to buy additional time over the 2 year warranty offered at t time of purchase . For the F-type V6 one extra year (so 3 years) is £406 inc Vat and two years is £906. Best deal out there if you make an early call.. InControl is handled separately to the warranty, it costs £30 a year for the service renewed annually. Not a bad deal for once, I like the journey analysis especially. Pity you can’t send destinations to the satnav.

My vehicle is just nearing the end of the Jaguar used vehicle 2 year warranty. I can only renew 1 year at a time @ £874 or £959 with roadside assistance. It then goes once the vehicle is over 5 years old. 2014 5.0L 550PS AWD convertible.

I received a third party quote for £2900 which includes wear and tear for 3 years but is limited to 15k miles over 3 years and based upon workshop rate of £120 per hour.

The in control is a subscription service. They will normally email you to say its coming to an end, do you wish to renew. From memory its between £200-£250/ year
