Just checked SIM security and it’s definately set to inactive. I’m on line with the SIM now all working fine. It must be an issue with the car.

One of the common problems is people not pushing the sim all the way in until it clicks and getting it the right way round in the slot.
I'm not suggesting that is the issue here but as a reminder for anybody else to make sure when the sim is in the slot it is pushed further in until you feel it click and release it.
It's fiddly and a good thumb or fingernail helps and it shouldn't protrude outside the slot.
Removal is the same, push in until it clicks then release and it will pop out.

Pic from the XE manual but it's the same system on the F-Type.

Have you used the SIM in another device. The f type is fleckle. It likes a data only SIM. I purchased data only from 3 store and it all flashed up but had to be done on the cars system, even that took a little time register on at least 3 different jaguar sites. They are all seperate, ie nav, in control etc.

@apr1962. Did you buy the car second hand recently ? Then it may be the previous owner or so, pushed a nanosim+frame in and in
the process of extracting it damaged the device.... :ugeek:

Yes, it is secondhand and a year old. Its quite possible the function has never been used.

I've booked it into the local dealer for them to fix this and also the non speaking sat nav.

Thanks all for your help
