Tomorrow morning at some ridiculous time I am leaving Derby for Lowestoft which I intend to do in a single sitting so I'll give it a go and post the result...

In old money: 1hr 59m 108.7 miles Ave Speed 57.2 mph 35.1 mpg (US)
Is that 42.2 mpg then? ๐Ÿ˜ฌ

Not sure not a mpg person as not used them in my life but did the conversion on Google, could be. Did have a/c on still so not the best I could do I think, but rarely turn off a/c.

Roof down increases fuel consumption too on mine, so you need roof up, all unnecessary electrics off! Not something Iโ€™ll be trying as I didnโ€™t buy it for economy and if it ainโ€™t raining the roof is down!

Not really Hypermiling, but a leisurely drive down the M1 few blasts to overtake etc, mostly on speed limiter thanks to the cameras on the M1 now...

Interestingly saw a set of ambulances flying down the opposite way and the speed cameras flashing away!

But is it right they put speed camera notices on every gantry, but only cameras every 10th or so?

You can see the cameras, now they are yellow boxes on the side of the gantries. Not on all gantries. Normally you can spot them on the opposite side easier, but I have spotted some on one side only so don't rely on that approach.

After about 1840 mile or thereabouts trip to France and back on all roads including mountain passes and cities where the consumption went up, I drove within most limits with the occasional blast in tunnels and out of toll gates etc, I achieved over 31 mpg average which I thought was good for an SVR.

Best I've had recently, 14 miles mix A & M roads at speed limits, 38.7 mpg

Recent trip to the new forest with 32.7mpg average. When I picked up the car, the 300 miles home also averaged 32mpg, which included stopping half way to take my daughter out on a 15 mile blast. The constant speed motorway stuff is where it merely sniffs fuel.
