Had the opportunity to drive both a Porsche Cayman and a V6 Ftype back to back round the Thruxton race circuit today on one of those track “experience days”. Although I own an Ftype I was driving their cars.

I learned
1) the interior of the Caman is very plastic and nowhere as nice a place to be as in the Ftype
2) the Ftype is much faster than I ever realised from driving mine on the road.
3) the electronic driving aids work 😊
4) I’m never going to be a racing driver !

Very enjoyable morning and now driving my own car with much more respect.

Sounds like you had a good time! And it's nice to know we chose the right car. ;)

Surprised you didn’t mention the different sound experience between the F-Type and the Dyson.
...I mean Caymen :D

Thruxton’s the fastest UK circuit and great fun for a driving experience day - did it a while back in an RX-7, 360 Modena, and Formula Renault - that last one keeps your wits about you ;)

+1 ...

I drive the Neurenburgring on Asseta Corsa [simulator], with my son. He does it in 7.43 min, my fastest ever was 10.55min..

We went for a spin [for real] on the Nordschleife with Dale Lomas in an Xj SVR V8 LWB [really ; a limmo..] and he went round in pooring rain changing to dry stretches with one hand on the wheel, chatting with us like he was in a pub watching tele.. He started with motorbikes and only changed to a car if it rained, so thats when he is at his best... Great guy ! I really can advise you to book one if you want to surprise your wife who always tells you : "..don't drive so fast.." , like mine does..
