First things first.... Remove the app from your phone and reinstall.

Disconnect your battery from the car for ten minutes.

Reconnect, the car data will be cleared and should reboot. You will need to reset your windows endcstops.

That should clear any erroneous data stuck in either the phone or the car.

Report back and we can take it from there.

Below are the specific reset instructions I was emailed by jaguar Customer support

Kev

Thank you for your email and patience.

I am sorry to hear that your InControl App is not showing the correct information. Please follow the steps below;

1. Log out and close down the app completely on your phone deleting and reinstalling it.

2. Take the vehicle for a minimum of a 1 mile drive. We often advise to do this on a regular commute.

3. Press and hold the "B-Call" button in the overhead console for 15 second

4. Start and load the app once again and log in.

This should have reset you InControl App and resynchronised it to your vehicle. If you are still experiencing concern following this please do not hesitate to contact me along with screenshots of the incorrect information including time stamps, a screenshot of the current software levels on both your application and mobile handset, the full VIN number for your vehicle and I will be able to further investigate with the assistance of our InControl team.

Is the "B-Call" button the assistance or SOS one?

It's the assistance one with the spanner on it.

As regards the reset procedure from JLR, as someone who has done it (Journey recording slowed right down to nothing and no remote start etc) it is basically correct but in my and a few other's experience it needs some tweeks for the real world.

As they say, delete and re-install the app.
Drive a mile or two to somewhere you know there is a strong mobile signal (car needs to talk to the JLR servers).
Keep the engine running so you won't get a shutdown during the procedure.
Press and hold the assistance button.
It will start to flash quickly.
Hold it until the flash rate slows down and release the button but do not drive off.
Eventually the flashing will stop and it's ok to drive off and go for a drive of at least around 5 miles.
Since doing mine about 8 months ago it has been perfect.

When my assistance button was last pressed (when a salesman was trying to get my mobile app working, which turned out to be a smartphone incompatibility :( ) I got a message saying it was taking over my SIM card and proceded to trash the APN fields on the card. After the techs had changed modules (to no good effect) I got the car back with the information that my SIM card didn't seem to be working. Thanks, guys.
