That's pretty good info considering it's only available in the RRS to start with and I don't recall them having a "loud " switch ?Dan_Veluwe wrote: βThu Feb 14, 2019 10:42 pm Word is : it sounds like sh#! due to the PDF ... Obviously the US Forum(s) or wherever that information came from know something that nobody else does.
Exactly.
If and when this engine goes in other models such as the F-Type the zorst will be tuned to suit.
Plus I don't know what the ref to the "PDF" affecting the noise is.
If he means the petrol particulate filters (PPF) which had to be fitted to get through the new emissions tests then those were being fitted early in 2018 to new Ingenium petrol engines.
I would think anybody with a MY19 300 will already have them fitted and probably on any MY19 V6/V8 too.

@Philb.
We have a saying in Dutch : a good listener only needs half a word...
Sure, I wrote it in one short line. So I will spell it out more clearly :
1.The PDF muffles the sound so many 'tunes' will be lost ..
2.The 'loud' switch seems to be an eliminated option from the order books for the F-Types in the US.

My point is the original question was about how it will sound.
Your response was : "Word is : it sounds like sh#! due to the PDF ..." as in present tense.
It's a brand new engine only available in the RRS at the moment.
Therefore unless someone has heard it in a production F-Type then nobody can say.
