Morning All,

Considering buying a wind deflector and just wanted to gauge peoples opinions on whether it’s worth it from a functional and price point.

They go for around £150-170 on eBay, do they make a significant difference?

I took mine off a week after I got the car.
For me it spoils the nice looks and I couldn’t detect enough difference to make it worth leaving on.
Just to mention, if you do get one be sure to wash it through from time to time and dry out - the fine mesh gets blocked with dust etc. and supposedly lessens it’s effectiveness.

Tried to remove mine today. Only while hood up as when driving on motorway I find it impedes the rear view a bit. Looks like it does not clip off that easy. On my mX5 it just folds down. 2017 v8R

Difficult to explain but you just push on the vertical parts fixed to the roll hoops to release the deflector to slide upwards - just try one end a little first and you'll see...

I find it is fine to prevent buffeting but not nearly as good as the one I had in my S Mercedes which was electrically operated so you can decide if you wanted it up or down & when you closed the top it automatically went down. Why Jaguar cannot offer an air scarf similar to Mercedes beats me as you can quite happily drive round in cold weather with the top down

Hi all, slight update - picked up a wind deflector, when it comes to fitting the brackets, how do you ‘pop out’ the thin strips of plastic from the hoops?
Probably easy but I’m assuming they are flimsy and I don’t want to snap anything!

The deflector does a good job of stopping the turbulence from rattling cold air around your neck.

Price wise...Its expensive like all Jaguar options.

If you're not in a rush to get one, hold out 'till one comes around cheap on eBay...£75 would be my top whack.

Thanks Tel, picked one up for £60 which I thought was a good price

Any idea on how to fit the brackets though? The blanking plate in the roll hoop doesn’t seem to budge much and I don’t want to snap anything!

Is it a full roll hoop off job?

I've attached the Wind deflector fitting instructions for you. No need to take the hoops off.
