As Jaguar is aware of this issue have they made modifications to later cars to save them the cost of replacement?

Hi Ken it effects all cars that produced up to at least 31 March 18. I am not sure of the exact date as mine came off line 19th Feb 18 and has the effective parts. Jaguar will only replace if there is signs of rust and it also depends on dealership. Hardwoods chichester are all over it and have done a number of cars. There are many post on here about it. Fez

SSM74031 - X152 Under body brace corrosion:

Issue: A customer may complain of corrosion appearing on the Under-body braces.

Cause: Insufficient Zinc-Nickel plating on current components.

New spec parts include a Zinc-Nickel plated layer between paint
protection and the metal substrate which provides a greater level of
corrosion protection for exposed Under Body steel components, including
protection against stone chipping and other environmental impacts due
to Zinc-Nickel hardness properties.

Action: If any of the Rear Under body braces are exhibiting red rust
corrosion, replace them with the new part number as listed below,
and submit an EPQR with photo’s attached of the concern and quoting
this SSM.

As above post, do a search and you will also find the issue number from Jaguar that should provide you with the later part with improved coating. But do not panic, it’s more cosmetic than anything at this stage of the Jaguars life cycle ...

My 2013 but only 15k mostly dry use and still on orig pirellis with loads of tread so has a pampered life but going to push for brace replacement at next service

I raised it with MY2016 when it was in for service a week ago.
Despite me trying to clean it up and paint it about 6 months ago it is still showing signs of corrosion. I raised it a year ago when it was on its 3rd service but it was dismissed out of hand by the dealer who said it was normal for F Types. I took it to another dealer for the 4th service earlier this month who have taken pictures to send to Jaguar for approval. Just waiting to hear and hopefully get it booked in for replacements.
