Hello
What would you recommend to fix stone chips?
Touch up paint or go to a professional shop? How do you fix it when it happens to you?
Stone chips
You can just touch them up but in my opinion they do tend to stand out. You can get a body shop to touch them up or do a full respray of the affected panel. All depends on how bad it is, how many there are, how much you want to spend and how much you love your car. I suggest getting a couple of quotes, weigh up your options. Hope this helps??

Chipex is quite good but take it slowly and carefully.
A tip I saw was to dilute the touch up paint and apply many very thin layers, rather than using the paint straight out of the tin/stick.

Far too many years of experience to waste my time touching up chips on quality cars in places that are visible.
My wife ‘grazed’ the Evoque jumper so needed it spraying
Price including filling a couple of number plate holes and blending to the wings was £240 so when you measure that against the cost of a couple of smart repairs, then it’s the way forward..
Personally I dislike smart repairs as despite the tech improving they still tend to be thin paint and soon show up on the panel
When I do do a chip it’s with a micro dot of paint on a cocktail stick and then Langka blob remover that flats it to the surface. Good results with patience.

Wonder if any of you have had clear wrap on front bumper nose section to stop this. I am assuming it's the bumper nose that gets it & not the bonnet.

I've had a front end PPF wrap, excluding bonnet. No chips anywhere. I'm careful not to tailgate and keep extra distance from vans/trucks/lorries.
