Matford, cleaned, painted and rust proofed everything around the area including the subframe and then sprayed some form of wax into any hole or crevice.
I also waited the 5 hours and spent a lot of that time underneath with the technician

The simple fact is sub standard components were used and jlr has now pulled the ssm so no more rectification work meaning any f type will in future fail a mot due corrosion of said sub standard parts
This is a fact not a maybe
Jlr shd just hold theur hand up and rectify any model affected by corrosion

Do you know for a fact that it's a fact? They haven't just pulled the SSM awaiting a fresh supply of parts?

I’ll see if I can get anything from head office on why it’s been pulled

Regardless of this not being on Topix, seems JLR are doing the repair work subject to an analysis of the issue car by car.
Mine was done after Topix was withdrawn and even my first approach to them was also after Topix was withdrawn. There did not seem to be any push back from JLR on having the parts replaced. Maybe it's the dealers that are reluctant to put the work forward to JLR?

Actually it wasn't the parts that were substandard but the zinc plating treatment, which my dealer says has been solved with the new parts, even though they covered everything with an additional rustproofing.

Dealer just called me and parts are in and booked in on 29th July. So claims are still being accepted. Maybe down to how good the dealer is? (I use Derby).
