Hi everyone ! Sold my r35 few months ago and been struggling on what to replace it with since ! I'd played around with the gtr a bit and was running around 660bhp full decat flames blow off valves etc (I know it's childish  ) always liked the f type since it came out , have no need for practically rear seats etc just a fun fast and theatrical car , would I be disappointed ? I know this is a f type forum but honest opinions please ha . Also anyone have any reviews on the velocity ap tune and pulley ? I follow someone on YouTube who was running it and his transmition blew and obv jag didn't cover it, is this a one off and he a dud or is it sketch ? Many thanks

I came from Mitsubishi evo7 running 550bhp to Porsche 911 turbo to Aston Martin V8 Vantage to F type V8R and I believe the F type is the full package and my favourite of them all. You would not be disappointed from performance to handling and best of all the insane sound track. I do not think any power upgrade is necessary it's quick enough and power delivery is spot on.

I came from an XFR V8 so bit of a Jag fan anyway but 3 years on and the performance still feels astonishing, it makes every journey an occasion, my main wish list after colour was AWD and the pano roof but there are so many options to personalise, I don’t regret it at all and I don’t think you will either.

Lots oi owners on the US forum have the VAP upgrades and seem happy with it. Several threads about it on there.

Try an R or SVR in OEM spec, yes the extra 100 bhp looks good but not really certain you need it, this car is great as it comes out the factory. Had mine 2 years don’t plan to sell and as a serious modder of cars for fare to many years can’t say I see the need to mod it either.

If you go R, don’t know asbout the SVR, just make certain you put good tyres on it. I recently changed to Pilot Sport 4s from the Pirelli’s and it has made a vast difference in the level of grip.

I came from a vx220 s/c with 400bhp ish weighed 890kg compared to 1740kg for the Jag 550bhp ish :D

It's not going to be nearly as quick as the gtr, but you can get the R to 600hp with a pulley and remap.
Mine still makes me laugh every time I drive it.

I had two gtr's before I bought my V8.

My thoughts are.

Those back seats were handy.
Both big and heavy.
Ftype is a much nicer place to sit.
Ftype sounds much, much better.
I miss the full on attack of the GTR, this is mainly down to the gearbox being proper dual clutch.
The Ftype feels almost as fast.
Both cars have great road presence, people like them (unlike our old porsche).
I can get more than 23mpg out of the ftype.
