Ok, I know I should probably know this after 2yrs of ownership but I didn't...... and after a quick search I couldn't find another post about it so in shame here you go....!!

I never knew there was a place to hang the petrol cap whilst filling up.

I've learnt something new! Now no one take the p!55!!

All 3 of my previous Jags (XK8 and XKRs) had that facility, too. Next, you'll discover that there's a little arrow next to the petrol pump icon on the dash to indicate which side the filler cap is on. ;)

Oh the shame!!

I did laugh to myself as I realised. Thought it would be a good post to mock myself.

It will be included on all history checks going forwards as a "did you know".

I didn't know this either. Or the dash icon.

And today at work I politely suggested that someone (the CTO, no less) RTFM. 🙄

MMM embarrassed too...
I’ve been cursing the filler cap support on the F Type since the first time at the petrol station. The BMW and Mini have a nice spike to secure the cap when filling and the Transit has capless filling.
But I’m always knocking the cap off of the support on the one car I don’t want scratched!
Turns out as I’ve discovered reading this post I’ve been doing it all wrong for all this time.

I thought the STRAP fitted into that half moon moulding on the flap hinge. Thanks simpleR, so obvious why didn’t I see that!

That's how I'm using it with the strap over the half moon and getting angry that it falls off so easily letting the cap slam on the body :D
Nice of you to show us the correct way SimpleR
