As regards the straight six, there is a lot more to it than stuffing it into the engine bay.
It's designed with the 48v mild hybrid system which means a whole lot more equipment to incorporate into the car.
Currently available in the RR Sport, I would think the F-Type would need extensive body/foorpan changes to incorporate the mld hybrid system.

Yes, as it says the straight 6 mild hybrid is available in the RR Sport.
The mild hybrid system is also in the new Evoque on 4 cylinder ingeniums but not in any Jaguars yet that I know of.

A hybrid Jaguar would be a mongrel, surely? ;)

Not by definition. You can see the electric part as an ambitous alternator.. :geek:

Odd that V6 is still going to be available in some markets but not UK, perhaps something to do with new emission regulations coming in April 2020?

Just had a play with the configurator and saw nothing to change my mind.

A bit confused by the 450PS Supercharged V8 too. So this is a circa 100PS de-tuned version of the current engine then, with less performance and noise, all to make it more "acceptable"?

Also notice that my 20" Turbine wheels will now set you back over £11k as an accessory purchase - I think my car just went up in value!

All seems a bit of a shambles really.

EDIT:
And yes, you can now have "Bluefire Blue" - I had the more aptly named "Bluefire" on my XE and it's my handle on that forum still. It looked great in the sun or even under petrol station fluorescent lighting, but for me it's a bit too in-your-face for an F-Type - the shape of the car says it all, it doesn't need to shout it.
...Oh hang on, maybe it does now :D

Here is a comparision between the front of the F-type and XE.
